Bali Police Hunt for Kidnapping of Ukrainian Foreigners. Issue DPO and Red Notice

BALI – DETEKSIPOST.COM – Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Ariasandy S.I.K., explained that the Bali Police were hunting for the perpetrator of the kidnapping of a foreigner victim from Ukraine, Denpasar 27/2/2026.
 
KBP Ariasandy also explained that the police have now identified the perpetrators who kidnapped the Ukrainian foreigner with the initials IK at the crime scene on Jl. Jimbaran Kusel Badung Bali which occurred on Sunday 15 February at around 22.20 WITA. Even the video of IK confessing that he was a victim of kidnapping and was asked for ransom went viral on social media.
 
The six perpetrators are suspected to be foreigners with the initials RM, VK, AS, VN, SM and DH, all of them are men and currently the Bali Police are hunting them.
 
“We have determined the status of these six people as suspects and today we will coordinate with the National Police Hubinter to issue a wanted list (DPO) and a Red Notice to Interpol to find their whereabouts/suspects,” emphasized the Head of Public Relations.
 
Based on data on foreigner crossings at Immigration, it was recorded that four suspected perpetrators had fled abroad via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, while two suspected perpetrators were still in Indonesian territory.
 
The perpetrator’s identity was revealed from the vehicle rental and was also revealed thanks to surveillance camera footage that recorded the passing of an Avanza vehicle and two motorbikes in the Tabanan Regency area and where the victim was staying in the Badung Regency area.
 
From the results of the inspection, the vehicle was rented from a rental by a foreigner with the initials C with a fake passport and C was thought to be a foreigner from Nigeria and the police succeeded in arresting C in an area in West Nusa Tenggara on February 23. However, during the examination, C admitted that someone had asked him to rent the vehicle for Rp. 6 million, and C admitted that he did not know that the vehicle was rented to carry out the crime of kidnapping. Regarding the status of the alleged suspect with the initials C, the Police and Prosecutor’s Office are still coordinating regarding the articles that can be imposed on the alleged suspect with the initials C.
 
“Starting from that, we continued to trace it until the video of the IK victim’s confession went viral which was recorded in a villa in Tabanan.
“Using the GPS in the rental vehicle, we tracked this vehicle stopping anywhere, including at one of the villas in Tabanan. We have also checked the villa, there are blood samples there. “Then this blood is identical to the blood in the vehicle,” said KBP Ariasandy
 
Investigators have not succeeded in identifying the whereabouts of the IK victim, but based on foreigner crossing data at Immigration, the victim is suspected to still be in Indonesian territory.
 
“Of course the victims are still in our area. Because the identity has been recorded at immigration, it is impossible to leave our territory. “If you go out, you will definitely be found out,” he said.
 
On the other hand, regarding the discovery of a severed human head and body suspected of being a victim of mutilation at the mouth of the Wos River, Banjar Keden, Ketewel Beach, Sukawati Gianyar on Thursday 26 February at around 10.00 WITA.
 
The Head of Public Relations said he could not confirm whether the body parts were IK or not. However, the police are taking DNA samples from the body parts and IK’s parents to confirm his identity.
 
“These are two different cases and we are currently investigating the kidnapping case and the matter of finding the body parts. We are still in the process of identifying who these body parts belong to by matching DNA. One of them is by matching the DNA of the IK victim’s parents, he said.
 
In the case of the kidnapping of a Ukrainian foreigner with the initials IK, the six suspects were charged under Article 450 of the new Criminal Code, with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison. Apart from that, the perpetrators can also be charged with crimes related to depriving someone of their freedom, serious assault, stealing, emphasized the Head of Public Relations. (Team)
