16th ubud Writers & Readers Festival (UWRF) from 23-27 October


DETEKSIPOST.COM – The 16th Ubud Writers & Readers Festival (UWRF) will be held on 23-27 October. starting from writers, artists, activists, directors, scholars from all over the world will gather in Ubud to share stories and ideas that explore this year’s theme,
 
So that is Karma. Like the theme of the Festival in previous years, this year’s theme was inspired by Hindu philosophy. however, this time the UWRF theme is widely known. For the people of the world, karma is often interpreted as the law of cause and effect.
 
For Balinese Hindus, Karma Phala is a spiritual concept which states that every action will have equal consequences in similar strengths and forms. “Karma Phala nak cicih” is how the Balinese Hindus describe it. Cicih means definite, inevitable, and fast.
 
The festival which will be held for five consecutive days will explore the impact of human personal and collective actions on the social environment. Interesting discussion presented by literary figures, scholars, to emerging writers will enliven the Festival.
 
Meanwhile, Festival visitors will learn the definite things of this year’s Festival, namely decisions and consequences.
 
Along with the announcement of the 2019 theme, UWRF also launched a artwork for the 16th year, which was created by visual artist Samuel Indratma community.
