President Jokowi Discusses Peaceful Solutions to the Russo-Ukrainian War with a Number of State Leaders

Then March 22, 2022, with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and March 31, 2022, held talks with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, and April 12, 2022 with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres,” said President Jokowi in his statement at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Friday, April 29, 2022. .

Last night, Thursday, April 28, President Jokowi also had telephone conversations with Portuguese President Marcelo de Sousa and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
 
In a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, President Jokowi received news regarding the development of the current situation in Ukraine. During the talks, various requests for weapons assistance from Indonesia were also discussed.
 
“I emphasize that in accordance with the mandate of the Indonesian constitution and the principles of Indonesia’s foreign policy, it is prohibited to provide weapons assistance to other countries. However, I convey Indonesia’s readiness to provide humanitarian assistance. I convey the hope that the war can be stopped immediately and a peaceful solution through negotiations can be put forward “explained President Jokowi.
 
The Head of State understands that the G20 has a role as a catalyst in world economic recovery. According to him, when it comes to the world’s economic recovery, there are two big things that affect it at the moment, namely the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
 
“It is in this context that in a telephone conversation yesterday I invited President Zelenskyy to attend the G20 Summit,” he said.
 
Meanwhile, in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Putin also provided news about the situation in Ukraine, including the ongoing negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine. In the conversation, President Jokowi again emphasized the importance of ending the war immediately.
 
“I also emphasize that a peaceful solution can be put forward and Indonesia is ready to contribute to the peace effort. On this occasion, President Putin expressed his gratitude for the invitation to the G20 summit and he said he would attend,” he added.
