President: Azwar Anas Has a Clear Track Record and Many Innovations

JAKARTA – DETEKSIPOST.COM – President Joko Widodo explained the reason for his inauguration of Abdullah Azwar Anas as Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB) for the remaining term of office for the 2019-2024 period. According to the President, Abdullah Azwar Anas is a figure who has a clear and innovative track record while holding the position as Regent of Banyuwangi.
 
This was stated by the President in his statement after the inauguration ceremony at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
 
“Yes, we all know Mr. Azwar Anas, his track record is clear. When I was in charge of the bureaucracy in Banyuwangi, I saw a lot of things, I immediately looked there at that time, innovations in the field of public services, innovations in ID card affairs, “The licensing process can be done in the market, at the mall. I think he was among the first at that time. That track record caused us to choose Mr. Azwar Anas,” explained the President.
 
The Head of State also advised that bureaucratic reform can be carried out quickly so that it becomes a bureaucracy that serves and has high discipline. “I don’t think he needs to be given messages, he already understands what to do. He really understands, doesn’t understand,” he said.
 
Meanwhile, Abdullah Azwar Anas said that his party would describe and support President Jokowi’s vision and mission, especially to complete priority targets. Some of these priority targets are for example how the bureaucracy is involved in handling poverty, stunting, and so on.
 
“If we divide it up, it can be finished. The point is that we will work according to the direction of the President, including the bureaucracy that serves,” he said.
 
In addition, Abdullah Azwar Anas also wants the bureaucracy to be able to level up through digitalization in three areas, namely structure, culture, and competence. According to him it is very important and fundamental.
 
“Digitalization in these three sectors will certainly be very basic and this is in accordance with the direction of the President, moreover there is already SPBE, an Electronic-Based Government System, and if these can be connected, the results will be, God willing, maximum,” he said.
