In Jakarta, Ascott Indonesia, together with associates from Somerset and Pop! Hotels, commemorated World Mangrove Day through a mangrove conservation programme at Tidung Kecil Island. Bringing together associates and environmental partner Mangrove Jakarta by planting 2,000 mangrove seedlings.
The initiative highlighted the importance of protecting Indonesia’s coastal ecosystems through hands-on conservation activities.
Participants began by learning about the mangrove nursery process and preparing seedlings before taking part in the planting activities.
The programme continued with the monitoring of previously planted
mangroves to observe their growth, followed by a beach clean-up to help maintain the surrounding coastal
environment. Together, these activities reflected the importance of protecting mangrove ecosystems through both restoration and continuous care.

As part of the International Mangrove Day commemoration, a similar initiative was also held in Bali, where associates collaborated with the Bali Mangrove Care Forum (Forum Peduli Mangrove Bali) at Ngurah Rai Mangrove Forest Park (Tahura Mangrove Ngurah Rai), Tanjung Benoa.
The activity focused on environmental conservation and mangrove forest restoration, reflecting the collective commitment of Ascott Indonesia and its participating properties (Harris Hotel Kuta Tuban, Harris Hotel Seminyak, Harris Hotel & Residences Riverview Kuta, Harris Hotel & Residences Sunset Road, Harris Hotel & Conventions Denpasar, Fox Hotel Jimbaran Beach Bali, Yello Hotel Kuta Beachwalk Bali, Citadines Berawa Beach Bali,
Maison Aurelia Sanur by Preference Hotels, and Pop! Hotel Kuta Beach Bali) to support healthier and more sustainable coastal ecosystems. Reza Dranie, Director of Operations Excellence & Sustainability, Ascott Indonesia said “Mangrove
ecosystems play a vital role in protecting Indonesia’s coastlines and supporting biodiversity, making their preservation a shared responsibility. Through this World Mangrove Day initiative, we wanted to go
beyond planting seedlings by giving our associates and partners the opportunity to better understand the importance of mangrove conservation while contributing directly to its long-term impact. We are part of Ascott CARES, we remain committed to supporting meaningful environmental initiatives that create lasting value for both communities and the environment,”
