The Semara Putra orphanage was founded in 1984, by the former regent of Klungkung who took office at that time, Dr.Cokorda Gede Agung. Located in Klungkung district, address at Jalan Dewi Sartika No. 5 Semarapura.this orphanage was established to accommodate disadvantaged children or disabled children in Klungkung Regency.
 
The average Semara Putra orphanage currently has around 130 foster children, ranging from normal children to 90 people and 40 other children with disabilities such as blind, deaf, speechless, mentally disabled, disabled or physically disabled. and autistic children.
 
disabled children are schooled at an Extraordinary School (SLB) located right in front of the orphanage. While other normal children who are orphaned, or from poor families and neglected children, are schooled in several schools around Klungkung.
