President Jokowi: G20 Presidency is an Honor for Indonesia

DETEKSIPOST.COM – Indonesia officially holds the chairmanship or presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20) as of December 1, 2021. President Joko Widodo said that the G20 presidency is a trust and honor for Indonesia.
 
This was stated by President Joko Widodo during a speech at the opening of Indonesia’s G20 presidency as shown on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube, Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
 
“This belief is an opportunity for Indonesia to contribute more to the world’s economic recovery, to build a healthier, more just and sustainable world governance based on independence, lasting peace and social justice,” said the President.
 
In line with this, the G20 Indonesia presidency will carry the theme “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”. The President explained that in the G20 presidency, Indonesia will focus on doing three things.
 
“First, inclusive health care. Second, digital-based transformation. Third, transition to sustainable energy,” added the President
 
Furthermore, the Head of State also wants Indonesia’s presidency at the G20 not to be merely ceremonial. Indonesia encourages G20 countries to take real actions and big breakthroughs.
 
“Indonesia will continue to encourage G20 countries to build collaborations and build strength to ensure that the world community can feel the positive impact of this cooperation,” he explained.
 
The Indonesian presidency will also be used to fight for the aspirations and interests of developing countries. The President emphasized that Indonesia is trying to build a fairer world governance.
 
“Indonesia seeks to strengthen world solidarity in overcoming climate change and sustainable development, and garner commitments from developed countries to help developing countries, rich countries to help poor countries,” he said.
 
The President also believes that togetherness is the answer to the future with a spirit of solidarity. For this reason, Indonesia strives to produce concrete initiatives to encourage the recovery of the global situation so that it recovers quickly and becomes strong.
 
“I invite the delegates to come to Indonesia, to see the natural beauty of Indonesia, to witness the uniqueness, diversity of Indonesian culture, and feel the hospitality of the Indonesian people. We will welcome you, ladies and gentlemen, all with full of joy and open arms,” ​​he said.
