National Police Thickens Security for the G20 Summit in Kuta, Seminyak and Legian


BALI – DETEKSIPOST.COM – The police expanded the thickening of security activities at the peak of the G20 Summit activities in Bali on 15 and 16 November 2022. There were three locations that were targeted for medium-scale patrols, namely, Seminyak, Legian and Kuta.
 
From the results of the G20 Summit security evaluation by the National Police Headquarters on Monday (14/11/2022) evening, it is necessary to carry out preventive measures in these three locations which are places of public gatherings. The Assistant for Operations (Asops) to the Indonesian National Police Chief, Inspector General Agung Setya, said the activity was to strengthen security by placing personnel in places that required police services.
 
“As many as 60 Samapta personnel from the National Police Headquarters and 40 Samapta personnel from the Bali Regional Police and 80 personnel patrolling the Seminyak and Legian and Kuta clusters,” Agung said in his statement, Tuesday (11/15).
 
Agung revealed that for the past five days, flights to Bali have been quite busy. At least 20,000 people flew to the Island of the Gods.
 
“We want to maintain conduciveness and expand security around the location. Apart from that, the delegates can be safe and comfortable to carry out the G20 20 Summit, as well as those who are on holiday in Bali,” he stated.
 
It should be noted that at the G20 Summit, the National Police, in operation under the code name Puri Agung 2022, is responsible for layered security in ring three, which is the outermost layer dealing directly with the community.
 
“The National Police are required to present a security figure that is humane, friendly, but firm when needed, so as to be able to reduce potential security threats that could disrupt the G20 Summit,” said National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo when giving a speech at the Call for the 2022 Puri Agung Operations Troop, in the Context of Security G20 Summit, at Puputan Margarana Niti Mandala Field, Denpasar Bali, Monday (7/11/22).
 
During the series of activities at the G20 Summit to this day, community activities in Bali are running normally and they are not disturbed by the security provided by the TNI-Polri.
